Jon Arnold, smiling slightly, in glasses and a dark denim shirt

Hi, I'm Jon Arnold.

I've been a UX designer for over 28 years, since before most people had heard that term.

Along the way I've done user research, interaction and visual design, front-end development, and all things creative for more web apps than you can shake a stick at.

These days most of my energy goes into my own product, CameraSim Classroom: an interactive 3D platform for photography teachers and their students. I design and build it myself, from the 3D environments to the full-stack app, and it's where I practice the evolving workflows for shipping software in the age of AI.

My trusty toolbox:

  • Blender
  • Substance Painter
  • Unity
  • BabylonJS
  • Three.js
  • Figma
  • Photoshop
  • Premiere
  • After Effects
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Next.js
  • Tailwind
  • Supabase
  • AWS
  • Vercel
  • Stripe
  • Kit
  • Claude Code

When I'm not at a keyboard for work, I'm at one onstage most weekends: I play keys and guitar (and a little harmonica) in a country cover band doing late-night bar gigs. It's great music and even better people-watching.

I still take select consulting work. If you need help with something interesting, let's talkCopied!.
